The Asian Visual Culture Residency
Programme is an open platform for
discussion and debate on contemporary
Asian visual culture. Subjects such
as art, design, cinema (art direction),
food, streetscapes and visual anthropology,
among others, provide an opportunity
for representations of non-western
everyday culture to be mediated through
cross-cultural perspectives, using
parameters including Orientalism/counter-Orientalism,
and globalisation/glocalisation.
