Hong Kong Design Community is a non-profit making organisation
dedicated to promote Hong Kong design in all aspects. Our objectives
are as follows:
- To promote the development of local design by uniting designers
of different disciplines and people of different backgrounds.
- To formulate a code of conduct, rules of procedure and practice
among designers.
- To enhance the professional standard and status of Hong Kong
designers.
- To develop a knowledge system that consists of different archives,
information and resources for facilitating all kinds of design
and design related activities.
- To conduct studies in all aspects of design for further exploring
its potentials. Topics related to design practice, whether social
or economical, scientific or humanistic, would be incorporated
into our scope of studies.
- To provide consultations and information to those interested
in joining the design field, as well as to help the industry recruit
young talents.
- To enhance the public's understanding of design and professional
design practice by organizing various design education activities.

School of Indigenous Creativity

School of Indigenous Creativity (SIC) is an experimental community
project that based on knowledge exchange and creativity. It takes
the form of research, education, creative production, participatory
programmes, and social enterprise. Taking indigenous creativity
and culture of everyday life as an axis, SIC tries to bridge expertise
of Hong Kong and overseas cultural practitioners, local knowledge
and social network. It is hoped that the venture will help to nurture
an animated social relation and sustainable community. SIC is initiated
by Community Museum Project (www.hkcmp.org),
The AiR Association (www.hkair.org)
and The Blue House of The Netherlands (www.blauwehuis.org).
